Etheric Compound

Ethers are a class of organic compounds containing ether groups (r-o-r'). Ether groups are formed by connecting oxygen atoms between two carbon atoms. Ether compounds can be divided into two categories according to the structure of ether groups: symmetrical ethers and asymmetric ethers.Symmetrical ether refers to the same groups connected to the carbon atoms of two ether groups, such as dimethyl ether (ch3-o-ch3) and diethyl ether (c2h5-o-c2h5).Asymmetric ether refers to the different groups connected to the carbon atoms of two ether groups, such as methyl ether (ch3-o-c2h5), ether (c2h5-o-c6h5) and so on.
